From Norse Angels
One-handed Weapons
- Any weapon longer than 8" and less than or equal to 42" can be used in one or two hands.
- You can dual wield weapons of this type.
- These weapons cannot be used to thrust with.
Great Weapons
- Weapons such as greatswords and greataxes.
- They are greater than 42" and less than or equal to 60".
- These weapons must be held in two hands.
- These weapons cannot be used to thrust with.
Polearms
- Weapons such as staves, spears, halberds, etc.
- They are greater than 42" and less than or equal to 84".
- These weapons must be held in two hands.
- Polearms are vulnerable to the SHATTER call.
- Polearms greater than or equal to 60" can be used to thrust with if they have a thrust-safe tip (though you can also swing with them). You must present a weapon you intend to thrust with to a ref or the safety officer for inspection.
- A spear greater than or equal to 60" can be used in one hand, if held within 6" of the mid-point and used for thrusting only. You may not dual wield one-handed spears.
Buckler
- Bucklers are shields with a diameter less than or equal to 15".
- Bucklers must be held in a hand to block damage.
Large Shield
- Shields with a diameter greater than 15" in any dimension.
- Large Shields are vulnerable to the SHATTER call.
- Shields must be held in a hand to block damage
- A shield can be maximum of 40" in diameter, or similar area of another shape.
Runic Symbol
- You may use a Runic Symbol in one or both hands for +1 hit point each.
- This can either be a rune drawn on the hand, or on an object held in the hand.
- If you benefit from a runic symbol that hand cannot be used to wield a weapon, buckler or shield in that encounter.
Others
- Throwing weapons are not supported by this game.
- If you wish to use a bow or crossbow, or if you have a weapon you'd like to use that doesn't fall in to these categories, contact the refs.
