There are six main magical materials in the world. They are used to create items and inscriptions, are often traded, and most importantly are infused into godlings and lokilings to give them the power to cast from Runes.

All trappings of the material your godling is made of are optional, and it wouldn't be unusual to exhibit none of them at all.

Iron

Iron is a material known for its sharpness and strength and its proclivity for war. It is associated with the element of THUNDER and the realm of Asgard.

Godlings infused with Iron have a tendency towards aggression and ambition. Why wait for a problem to come to you when you can go and meet it? They will sometimes have silver patches of skin or silver designs on their skin, and tend to like wearing metal.

Stone

Stone is a hard and unyielding material. It doesn't cut like Iron, but is easier to shape. It is associated with the element of EARTH and the realm of Vanaheim.

Godlings infused with Stone tend to be slow to anger but quick to defend their allies, while being implacable in the face of aggression. They sometimes show brown designs on their skin (but never large brown patches), and tend to appreciate the colour brown.

Ice

Magical Ice is associated with the cold, but also patience and calm. Like a glacier, it wears away at its target until they yield. It is associated with the elements of ICE and WATER and the realms of Jotunheim and Niflheim.

Godlings infused with Ice tend to be calm and patient, but will pursue their goals relentlessly. They sometimes show blue patches of skin or blue designs on their skin, and tend to like the colour blue.

Fire

Fire is most associated with impulsive destruction and righteous anger, but the passion of fire can also be channeled artistically. It is associated with the element of FLAME and the realm of Muspelheim.

Godlings infused with Fire have a tendency towards emotional outbursts. They sometimes show flaming red patches of skin or red designs on their skin, and tend to enjoy the colour red.

Greenery

Magical living materials are associated with nurturing, care and life. They are associated with the the element of LIGHT and the realm of Alfheim.

Godlings infused with Nature tend towards enthusiasm and community-mindedness, and be in touch with nature and life. They sometimes show green patches of skin, green designs on their skin, or have flowers and greenery growing on them.

Darkness

Darkness is associated with the ephemeral, the stealthy, betrayal and death. It is associated with the element of DARK and the realm of Svartalfheim.

Godlings infused with Darkness tend to be slow to trust, and have only a few friends, but with whom they bond closely; even those of darkness know that truly lone wolves die in Niflheim. Dark godlings sometimes show black or grey designs on their skin (but never large black sections).
