Things to Decide

Name

The options are pretty free: Norse names, Runes, or characteristic words tend to be the choices. Your character can have been named either by their god or by themself. Loki didn’t name any of his. At least officially: some of them have nicknames.

Gods

The ‘who’ is self-explanatory: there are 24 (sort of, there’s actually 25 but Magni and Modi have to share like good siblings, so you can’t be a godling of them individually) deities (including Loki) making you guys.

If you're a follower of Loki, you may also want to decide which god you're claiming to have been made by instead.

Material

There are six materials you can be infused with, which may affect your appearance and temperament, and will also determine how you cast runes, and some of your income:

• Iron
• Stone
• Darkness
• Fire
• Ice
• Greenery

Random Rune

Being made from a blueprint designed by Loki means that parts of your being are a bit unpredictable; as such, in addition to the Rune of your god, you also have access to a random Rune. This Rune will be randomly chosen by the Refs with the following limitations:

• You cannot get Hagalaz as your random Rune.
• Your random Rune will have a different call than your God's Rune.
• You can specify if you want a combat Rune or a non-combat Rune, but do not have to if you want the full range of possibilities.

What you are. What you do. You, in a word.

What DO you want?

Your character has a lot of free will. Some of the gods would say too much… Due to your level of free will, Lokilings may work to delay Ragnarok along side the godlings and godlings can choose to defect to the side of Chaos.

This has no mechanical benefits. It’s purely just for you to get a feel for your character.

How did you get here?

"I was born yesterday from nothing" is a fine answer, though you could also have been made from a trusted mortal.

Deviance

This is a flaw that can be exploited by Loki, or that may make you do strange things. This is also completely defined by players. Yes, it’s your problem now. Make sure you have one or we will smite you... by giving you one of our own making. A major objective for a Deviance is to cause otherwise loyalist PCs to not always work for the common cause.

This results in a certain number of curse cards a week among the player base, but you are expected to also roleplay your deviance without ref prompting.

Familiar

Choose between combat, sneaky and cute. Uptime and downtime can be different.

Submit

Once you've figured out those things, you can submit a character to the refs here.

• Word: Mysterious
• What does she want: The truth. Mostly for herself. Truth is knowledge and knowledge is power after all.
• Deviance: Far too secretive and more than a little paranoid.
• Animal Familiar: Owl
• Uptime Familiar Ability: Extreme Cuteness
• Downtime Familiar Ability: Familiar on the Wall

• What does he want: To experience everything he can. Especially food.
• Deviance: A tendency to form quick attachments, including to enemies.
• Animal Familiar: Wolf (that looks oddly like a golden retriever)
• Uptime Familiar Ability: Guard Dog
